Australian Photojournalist Travel Photographer
Extremely proud for a first time entrant to have picked up a Silver in the AIPP QLD Epson Professional Photographer of the year awards.
I have to admit that being there at the judging is quite a nerve wrecking experience. It was quite humbling being a part of such a high caliber of photography, seeing the exceptional quality prints up on the wall afterwards. Printing really is an art-form in itself.
I learned a lot that’s for sure. I came away with a handful of high scoring photos, and with some more print knowledge, who knows, next year may be… an even better story.
Here is the judges’ favourite, from the Travel category. It was described by one judge as “a great portrayal of natives in their habitat”. Some people sure are characters. The judges couldn’t pick the location, but I can assure you, it’s under the Brooklyn Bridge in New York, hours before a 4 day blizzard closed the whole of New York City.
